Tonight it’s a relaxing dinner featuring your choice of ala carte dinner card, and all your drinks included, at a restaurant favored by locals. Today dinner will be included

Day 3: Bratislava

One of the best ways to get over jetlag is with a morning jog or Yoga. It’s your choice, relax or join a local resident for a fun, informative, and calorie burning city running tour (a Trek to Tatras Exclusive offer). Alternatively, sleep in a little later and then enjoy a morning yoga featuring stunning views of the cityscape. The afternoon is yours to explore the town on your own or you can join a “bike and boat” excursion to the Austrian town of Hainburg. Start by joining the famous biking paths that crisscross Europe for an easy ride through the countryside of Slovakia and Austria, crossing the border and onward to Hainburg, a quaint spa town. After a lunch of schnitzel and strudel, board your sit-on-top kayaks for an easy float down the mighty Danube to Bratislava, passing Devin Castle along the way. To celebrate the finish of our trip, we pop open champagne and snack on local specialties as we lounge along the banks of the river in Bratislava. This evening join a local foodie for a culinary safari through Bratislava where we hunt for the best cuisine, ambiance, and vintages the city has to offer a discerning pallet. Today breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included.

Day 4: Bratislava – Trencin Castle – Hike to Chata Stefanika (Dumbier)

Pack your gear and head out! Today we travel to the heart of Slovakia as we head to the “littlest big mountains in Europe” – the hiking and climbing mecca – Tatras Mountains. Along the way we will make a stop for a private introduction to Trencin castle. Next, we drive to Trangoska where we will leave our driver and the modern world behind for what will surely be a highlight of your journey - a relaxing few hours hike to a traditional mountain chata in the Nizke (Low) Tatras mountains. When we reach the cottage, you will be greeted by the chatars (managers) of the cottage inside the cozy restaurant area, enjoy beers and local snack specialties while your tented camp and gourmet camp meal is prepared outside. The views from the chata are stunning, and so are the walks along the marked trails the radiate in all directions. This evening, enjoy a camp style gourmet meal (it’s your choice menus!), wine, and the finest mountain cocktails and coffees in Slovakia! This evening, you sleep in your expedition style tents complete with plush cots and even WIFI if you want it! Today breakfast and dinner will be included.

Day 5: Chata Stefaniika - Chopok – Popradske Pleso

The Hike of a lifetime awaits today as we strike camp and hit the trail for our ridgeline trek. We first take selfies at the cross marking the peak of Dumbier, a favorite winter climbing and alpine skiing destination, before following an undulating trail to Chopok. We rough it a bit today for lunch as we snack on trail mix and homemade lunches en-route. Our destination is the twin peal of Chopok, from where we will have stunning panoramic views over the High Tatras mountain range, and the valleys of Slovakia. Make no mistake; this region is an undiscovered gem of Europe! We reach Chopok and will take the ski lift down to our waiting vehicle for the short drive to the High Mountain Hotel Popradske Pleso. Tonight, relax in this mountain style hotel, and enjoy a private Russian Barrel Sauna and hot tub soak before dinner. Of course champagne and caviar is included! Perhaps you will even spot one of the local inhabitants, a brown bear while lounging on the balcony overlooking the Mountain Lake and vistas. Today breakfast, snack, and dinner will be included.

Day 6: Popradske Pleso

Climbing Course Join our expert mountain guides for an early morning climbing course in the area around the cottage! Learn the arts of belaying, lead climbing, following, and rappel! Day 7: Popradske Pleso – Rysy Trek – Strbske Pleso

This morning it’s a true highlight! The twin summits of Rysy are located on the main ridge on the border between Poland and Slovakia. ... Rysy is the highest peak of Tatras accessible by marked route, which explains its great popularity during summer season. Just below the summit is the Rysy Hut, with its great mountain food and famous toilet! Lunch and a beer are on us before we hike down to Popradske Pleso. From here, you can continue the walk to Strbske Pleso, an easy walk (we provide maps and GPS), or grab a ride with your guide for a quick ride! This afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy the amenities of your five star hotel and spa! Today breakfast, lunch will be included.

Day 8: Strbske Pleso

A true mountain hideaway, known within Europe but unknown in America, it is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts! The day is yours to explore how you like, we include a choice of activities – Cable Car to Lomnicky Stit – for stunning views of the Tatras, visit to a local village to meet a local family and break bread and try a home-made Slivovicka! This evening, we meet up at a local Salas restaurant where its hearty food, gypsy music, and traditional Slovak fujara (alpine horn) blowers await to greet you (and teach you) this quickly disappearing art form! Today breakfast and dinner will be included.
